Your Ideal Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution According to the Zodiac Sign
The return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread enthusiasm within the fandom. Starting with the one-by-one reveal of newcomers ahead of the title's launch, to trainers forming strong views on the entire roster of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to.
With numerous of the Super Forms boasting distinctive appearances that highlight their traits, one thought naturally: How can connect this with zodiac signs? The following is based on a blend of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
The Ram – Mega Camerupt
Honestly, Houndoom was nearly selected for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that inspire the most fear. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as constantly angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, known for being playful, cheerful, and impulsive. This makes Aries far more akin to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when provoked. Remain on the good side of either and benefit from a powerful partner; should you offend them, be ready to face the consequences.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Much like a loyal Bull, the reliable Heracross, both in its standard and Super Form, has assisted numerous players in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the Pokémon and a Taurus are still Fighting types, and – be it their companion or a strong opinion – will defend their position unwaveringly. What about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unashamed love of snacks. Many previous official descriptions mention their craving for sweet tree sap and how it uses its appendage to collect it all, which is pure Taurus energy.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Look at this total royalty. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the life of every party, providing an endless fountain of gossip to anyone who wish to hear. Much like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's very easy to envision Mega Medicham mesmerizing an whole open area with their stories. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also states its capacity to predict an enemy’s future actions, which seems very similar to a socially-savvy Twins.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
Cancer is widely regarded as the most sensitive sign of the zodiac, a passionate symbol famous for often becoming wrapped up in their feelings. Per the official info, Mega Evolution fills the creature with a “huge quantity of electricity, but it's too much for Manectric to completely control,” which sounds a lot like a classic Cancer emotional outburst. It is also known for its ability to make a thundercloud over its very head – and if there’s one thing a Crab is going to do, it’s spoil their good time.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you think I was going to pick the lion Pokémon for the king of the zodiac? Aside from the reality that it would be much too obvious, Leo is clearly Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just became an internet sensation for being too glamorous (or horrifying, depending on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet sea star, and that’s precisely the same energy a Lion brings to the table. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its red core out into space, and it’s typical of a Leo to be staging a show, even if for aliens.
Virgo – Mega Victreebel
The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Maiden is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual acid reflux. The sign famous for being endearingly judgmental is clearly reflected across this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you tell them you lack a retirement plan, to its upside-down visage that’s just like the symbol a Maiden sends to the group chat when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of making a strategy.
Libra – Mega Audino
Look at this gentle, sensitive creature, who employs the feelers on its ears to detect how others are feeling by their heartbeat. Always compassionate – occasionally to a detriment – and trying to keep the harmony, there are numerous Scales who would probably benefit from Mega Audino’s abilities. However, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to worry more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Super Banette
Banette is a creature with a surprisingly tragic origin: Abandoned as a doll, it became consciousness through sheer hatred and swore retribution on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That sounds exactly like several conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio adores cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the ideal pair with Super Banette.
The Archer – Super Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are always putting on a performance. Being a Archer myself, the amount of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “playful small jester” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its description even notes how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius match I can imagine.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Did you know that a Mega Absol has the ability to foresee calamities ahead of time? That exudes the identical vibe as a Capricorn, who often always think they’re right. Interestingly, much like a visionary Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute initial Super Form that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to join the beginning of the Super Form craze.
Aquarius – Super Chandelure
Aloof air sign Aquarius is possibly the non-flame placement that is closest to a fire sign – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's double Spirit/Flame typing fits seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's general intimidating presence is also very Aquarius. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Mega’s description says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into power.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
